Chat with Image

UPDF AI lets you chat with images to extract and translate text, identify details, answer image-related questions, and more. Get started with 100 free prompts, with affordable paid plans available. With a subscription, you can also chat with PDFs across UPDF's desktop, web, and mobile platforms to streamline your workflow.

Part 1. Chat with Image on Desktop

Step 1. Launch UPDF on your desktop and click Open File to open an existing PDF. Alternatively, click Tools > Blank to create a new PDF.

Step 2. Click the UPDF AI button in the upper-right corner to open the AI assistant.

Step 3. Click the “AI Chat” icon on the right sidebar to enter AI Chat mode.

Step 4. Click the + icon in the input box and select Image to upload an image or Screenshot to capture one.

Step 5. Alternatively, right-click and drag to select an area of the PDF, then click Copy as Image to add the selected content to AI Chat.

Step 6. Once the image is added, enter your prompt, such as "Extract text from this image," "Translate the text in this image into French," "Explain what this text means," or "Create a caption for this image." Then click Send to get an AI-generated response.

Step 7. Review the AI-generated response. You can Copy, Regenerate, Export, or Delete the response, or rate it as Helpful or Not Helpful to provide feedback.

Part 2. Chat with Image Online

Step 1. Launch UPDF on your desktop and click AI at the bottom of the home screen to access UPDF AI Online. Alternatively, you can visit the UPDF AI Online Assistant directly or click the button below to get started.

Step 2. Click Click, drag, or paste PDF / Image here to upload an image, or simply drag and drop or paste an image into the upload area.

Step 3. Once the image is uploaded, enter your question or a custom prompt in the text box, then click Send to get an AI-generated response.

Step 4. Review the AI-generated response. You can Copy or Regenerate the response, or rate it as Helpful or Not Helpful to provide feedback.

Part 3. Chat with Image on Mobile

Step 1. Open the UPDF app on your iPhone and tap UPDF AI in the bottom navigation bar.

Step 2. In the Chat tab, tap the Image icon in the input box to upload an image.

Step 3. Once the image is added, enter your prompt, such as "Help me solve this math problem," and tap Send to get an AI-generated response.
