How to Use Ask PDF Mode in UPDF on Android

This feature allows you to ask questions about PDFs. It supports summarizing, translating, or explaining the PDF content. We will show you how to use it step by step with different methods.

1. Summarize PDF

You can use UPDF AI to summarize some paragraphs in your PDF, summarize specific pages, or the whole PDF. Here is how you can do so:

To Summarize some paragraphs, here is the guide.

• Open UPDF on your Android device, tap on "All PDFs" and select any PDF you want to summarize to open it.

• Hold on to the texts that you want to summarize, and drag the slider to select all the paragraphs you need. Tap on the "UPDF AI" icon on the Top.

• Tap on the "Summarize" icon, now UPDF AI will help you summarize the whole paragraphs.

• You can tap on the "Copy" icon or the "Regenerate" icon per your requirements

If you need to summarize the PDF by pages or the whole PDF, you can follow the below steps.

• Same as before, open the UPDF on Android, tap on "All PDFs", select one PDF to open, and Tap on the "Tools" icon on the top.

• In the new window, tap on "Ask PDF" and click on "Start". Now, UPDF AI will help summarize the whole PDF for you automatically.

• To summarize by pages, you can tap on the "Bulb" icon at the bottom left side, select "Summarize by Page", choose the output language you need, and scroll to select the page range that you want to summarize here. 2. Translate PDF

• Here, you need to go to "All PDFs" after you open the UPDF on Android, then, tap the PDF you need to open it.

• Hold on the text and select all the words, sentences, or paragraphs you need, and tap on the "UPDF AI" icon.

How to Use AI Chat Mode with UPDF on Android

1. Summarize

You can use Chat mode to summarize content of any length. Just follow the guides below to get started:

• Select and copy the content you want to summarize, not necessarily PDF.
• To access the UPDF AI feature, you need to open any PDF in your Android device. Then, Tap "Tools" on the top. You need to tap on the "Chat" icon this time. Select the "Summarize" after tapping on the prompt at the left side corner.

• Paste your content, then, tap on the arrow icon to get a summarized version in a matter of a few seconds or minutes, depending on the length of your added content.

2. Translate

Like the Ask PDF mode, Chat Mode allows translating content into multiple languages, like French, Korean, Japanese, English, etc. Here is what you will need to do:

• Copy your desired content from the source.
• Open the PDF and access the UPDF AI with the steps mentioned before.
• Select "Translate" from the drop-down menu on the bottom left corner.
