Zlatko Petrovic is a professional engineer working in the building inspectorate of the city administration. His work involves opening large, complex design files, reviewing/marking those files, and adding necessary comments.
Zlatko needed a PDF tool that could easily load big files and assist in reviewing them. That's what Zlatko found with UPDF, which became its go-to PDF solution to address his workflow needs.
Part 1. Challenges Faced Before UPDF
“The previous PDF tools I used were very slow loading big, complex files where I had to wait for several minutes to open an individual file.”

Since Zlatko works in the city administration, one of his main duties is reviewing detailed plans and documents. This means that some files can be really big. So, he faced the challenge of slow-loading of such PDF files. This implies that he had to wait for several minutes to open an individual file.
He used many PDF viewers/editors, including Adobe's Acrobat, but still struggled with the slow loading of big, complex files. However, his job required him to review the files quickly and efficiently and make necessary comments.
According to Zlatko, design is constantly developing, making a PDF editor with easy-to-use tools a critical communication element between engineers. However, he struggled almost daily with the slow review of various architectural and engineering plans.
Part 2. How UPDF Solved His Challenges?
As soon as Zlatko subscribed to UPDF, it was a game-changer. UPDF has helped him improve his workflow by a huge margin.
“Being able to open, review and mark up files faster has improved my workflow by a huge margin.”

UPDF provides Zlatko with a faster way to load large files involving dozens of pages and complex designs. This saves significant time spent loading files, and makes Zlatko focus more on reviewing.
Besides streamlining the opening process, UPDF also assists in faster file review and markup. It offers a wide range of annotation tools to highlight, underline, draw, strikethrough, underline, or insert stamps, stickers, comment boxes, and more. While reviewing the architecture PDF, Zlatko is able to use these annotation tools to easily markup design changes, leave detailed comments, add approval stamps, or highlight important sections.
In short, UPDF is helping Zlatko have a smooth and faster workflow.
Part 3. Comparison with Other Tools
Before using UPDF, Zlatko used many PDF tools. However, he struggled with the slow loading of big files, which often disrupted his workflow. He even used Adobe Acrobat, the well-known PDF tool, but wasn't impressed much. UPDF is more outsanding compared to Adobe Acrobat.
Some of the key elements of UPDF that Zlatko found exceptional compared to other tools include:
- Faster Document Loading: Zlatko can load big files smoothly in seconds instead of waiting for minutes.
- Affordability: UPDF offers the most affordable subscription plans. UPDF Pro is available for just $39.99/year, while Adobe Acrobat Pro requires $239.88/year.
- Multiplatform Compatibility: Zlatko enjoys UPDF's multiplatform compatibility. UPDF offers dedicated apps for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
- Exceptional Annotation Features: Zlatko enjoys the exceptional annotation features UPDF offers to easily markup files.
- AI Features: Zlatko finds UPDF's AI assistant useful in chatting with PDFs and using it as a virtual assistant.
Zlatko considers UPDF in close resemblance with Bluebeam's Revu, but he found UPDF dominating for affordability and multiplatform. However, he believes that UPDF has some areas to improve.
“Working in architecture it is essential to be able to quickly and efficiently go through the files and make necessary comments. Design constantly develops and changes and capable and easy to use tools in PDF editor are crucial part of intercommunication between different engineers.”

Part 4. Suggestions and Endorsement
Zlatko currently uses UPDF for personal use but will likely incorporate it into his professional workflow. As of now, he has one main suggestion for UPDF.
Zlatko wants UPDF to redesign the "measuring" tool. He wants this functionality to work on a "per page basis" so that it remembers scale/units per page. Since different drawings are in different scales, it is currently struggling to go to settings, find measuring tools, and then change the relevant settings. So, a redesign of the measuring tool will make it more streamlined.
Other than this suggestion, Zlatko endorses UPDF's feature-rich performance, affordability, and regular updates. Specifically, he endorses UPDF's speed in handling large files, which helps him save significant time and optimize workflow. That's why he plans to use UPDF for both personal and professional workflows.
