Check and Manage PDF Pages with AI

Effective PDF management is non-negotiable for professional PDFs, like a bid document or a contract. Even more so, if you’ve merged multiple documents together.

Before sharing the file, you'll need to ensure that your PDF is properly structured. However, manually checking every page for any formatting issues can take hours. Plus, it’s possible to overlook some important errors.

The AI Page Management feature in UPDF makes things easier by automatically scanning your document and highlighting pages that need to be optimized.

It supports the following types of pages:

• Blank pages
• Scanned pages
• Invalid pages with shadows
• Inverted page orientation
• Document continuity breaks in page numbering
• Pages containing annotations
• Page size inconsistencies, etc.

Part 1. How to Check and Manage PDF Pages with AI

With the AI Check Pages tool, UPDF automatically finds important page organization issues and presents them in an organized list. You can quickly view and fix the issues using the suggested actions.

Here are the steps.

Step 1. Open the Organize Pages Tool

Open your desired PDF in UPDF. Then, click the “Organize Pages” icon near the top in the left sidebar.

Step 2. Start the AI Page Check

From the toolbar at the top, click the “AI Check Pages” option. The AI will quickly scan your PDF document for any items that need further optimization.

Step 3. Review the Identified Issues

The results of the AI scan can be viewed in the AI Check Pages panel on the right. From here, you can view the list of issues with a short description and an Action button for resolving them.

Step 4. Go to the Affected Pages

Click any item in the list to quickly jump to the corresponding page in your document. This way, you can manually review the issue before proceeding to fix it.

Step 5. Fix Issues Using Suggested Actions

To resolve the issue, click the Action button next to each item in the list. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.

Step 6. Recheck and Confirm

After addressing all issues, you can click the “AI Check Pages” tool again to confirm it. The resolved items will disappear from the list, and a dialogue box will notify that the document is flawless.

Part 2. Examples of Actions for Resolving Page Issues

Based on the type of issue, the actions can be automatically handled by AI or may require manual steps.

For example, in the case of comments identified in the PDF, you can click the “Extract” button. Then, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the action.

Any reversed pages in the PDF will be presented with a “Check” button. Clicking on it directs you to the said pages, where you can manually adjust their rotation.

For scanned pages in the PDF, you'll need to click the “OCR” button. Then, you can proceed to run the OCR tool to make the pages editable and searchable.
